Getting to Know the Redesigned Contact Profile Page

This guide covers the redesigned contact profile page that's currently in beta: where the navigation, contact header, and details sections have moved, and where to find each tab. It's meant to help you get oriented quickly if you're used to the classic layout.

Getting Started

  • Who can do this: Anyone with access to view contact profiles, provided their company is enrolled in the beta program. Enrollment happens at the company level: if your company is enrolled, all of your users have access to the redesigned page.
  • Before you start: You can switch between the classic and redesigned layouts at any time while the beta program is running.

How do I switch between the classic and new layouts?

From the classic layout, click Settings near the top right, then click Try New Design.

From the new layout, click your account name at the bottom left, then click Use Classic Design.

To view a contact's redesigned profile, click on a contact, for example, by finding them in the global search bar or from the contact list page.

Where did the top navigation go?

The menu and settings dropdowns that used to sit across the top of the page have moved into a left navigation pane. The project switcher, previously in the middle of the top bar, is now at the very top of the left pane, and the notification bell has moved there too. Click the collapse icon to shrink the navigation pane to icons only, and click it again to expand it back to full labels.

What's in the left navigation menu?

The main menu items are, in order: Home, Search, Inbox, People, Inventory, Conveyancing, Emails, RSVP, Calendar, Files, Forms, and Analytics. Some of these have submenus, shown by a small arrow icon next to the item; click the item to expand it and see the submenu options.

Note: The Contacts menu has been renamed People, and the same change has been made in the Project Settings menu. Mixing up Contacts and Contracts has been a common mis-click for staff and clients alike, so we've renamed it to help cut down on that. We heard you, and we've fixed it in this redesign.

Where are Project Settings now?

Project Settings has moved from the top right of the page to the bottom of the left navigation pane. The settings menus themselves haven't changed, aside from the Contacts-to-People rename above: Edit, Team, API, People, Inventory, Contracts, Conveyancing, Communications, and Exports are all still there.

Where is my account menu now?

Your account settings, previously under a menu at the top right of the page, now have their own section at the very bottom of the left navigation pane. From there you can reach:

What's on the contact profile page?

At the top of the main page, you'll see the contact's name, along with three action buttons and a micro-menu:

  • The Send Email icon opens an email to the contact
  • The Phone icon launches your Aircall integration, which is the phone system connected to Spark
  • Interact lets you log other types of interactions with the contact, such as a sales centre visit
  • The micro-menu lets you Edit the contact, Opt them Out, or, if your permissions allow it, Remove them

Below the contact's name, you'll see their rating, any tags that have been applied (such as Purchaser, Agent, or Legal), and a row of pills with quick information, such as when the contact was last contacted, whether they have outstanding information, or whether they've opted out. Click on the rating to update via a dropdown list.

New Contact Bar

Underneath that is the Details section, which shows the contact's name, email, phone, contact preference, and company by default. Click More Details to see additional demographic information, and beside the Details tab you can toggle to Q&A to view or edit the contact's Q&A answers. Any custom fields you've set up appear within the Details section itself, not under Q&A.

Beneath Details, you'll see the contact's associations: People (agents/clients, team members, lawyers, and relationships), Inventory, Contracts, and Groups.

The rest of the page is organized into tabs: Overview, Timeline, Emails, Calls, Messages, Notes, Events, Details, and Groups. For step-by-step instructions on working within each of these, see the related articles linked below.
