Opting a contact in or out of calls and emails
Respect communication preferences and stay compliant with anti-spam legislation by opting contacts out of calls and emails, or opt them back in if they change their mind.
Opting a contact out
Use the Opt Out of Calls and Emails button on a contact’s profile when they ask not to be contacted by phone or email.
- Navigate to Menu → Contacts → List.
- In the Search bar at the top of the contact list, type the contact’s name, email address, or phone number.
- Click the contact’s name to open their profile page.
- Click Opt Out of Calls and Emails at the bottom of the page.
- In the confirmation window, click Confirm to complete the opt-out.
This sets the contact’s communication status so they will no longer receive calls or emails initiated from Spark.
Note: Contacts that unsubscribe from your emails will automatically be opted out.
Opting a contact back in
If a contact is already opted out, the button at the bottom of the profile will allow you to opt them back in instead and will say Opt Back In to Calls and Emails.
Important: Use caution when opting contacts back in. Before you do so, make sure you have recorded valid consent in line with any applicable anti-spam legislation (such as CASL or other local laws).
- Navigate to Menu → Contacts → List.
- In the Search bar at the top of the contact list, type the contact’s name, email address, or phone number.
- Click the contact’s name to open their profile page.
- Click Opt Back In to Calls and Emails at the bottom of the page.
- In the confirmation window, click Confirm to complete the opt-in.
