Adding a New Common Issue (Juniper)
Save time with Common Issues. Preload common issues (e.g. “paint scuff”) into relevant Catalog Items and select these from a dropdown menu instead of typing out a description for each deficiency.
You can learn more about logging items in our Walkthrough App Guide.
Begin by clicking Catalog in the left-side navigation panel. Click on the item’s name to open it.
Note: Common issues must be added to individual Catalog items as the relationship is tied to a specific item when logging deficiencies in the walkthrough app.
Next, click on the Common Issues tab. Depending on your browser/device size, you may need to scroll to the right to find it.
To add a new Common Issue, click Add Common Issue.
Select the issue type. Juniper has 6 standard issue types: Finishing, General, Heating/Cooling, Electrical, Plumbing & Exteriors. These are default and cannot be changed. The General issue type is the default issue type when logging deficiencies on the walkthrough app. If you are unsure which issue type is relevant, we recommend selecting the General option.
Issue Type | Example Issues |
Finishing |
Drywall crack, paint scuff, crack in baseboard, nail pop |
General |
Appliance not working, blinds not operational |
Heating/Cooling |
Air conditioning not working, heat not reaching desired temperature, thermostat not working |
Electrical |
Light or outlet not working, GFCI switch not operational |
Plumbing |
No water, hot water not working, sink or tub does not hold water, leaky faucet |
Exteriors | Exterior paint, landscaping issues, patio pavers not level |
Next, add a description. This text is what will appear from the dropdown menu when logging deficiencies in the app. We recommend keeping this concise, but descriptive enough to understand the issue.
Finally, click Save to save the common issue to the catalog item.
Summary of Key Steps:
