Contract Date Settings

The following dates are available to display on the contract or additional documents by default: Reservation Date, Contract Date, Sent Date, Offer Date, Vendor Acceptance Deadline, Accepted Date, Firm Date, Estimated Completion Date, Completion Date, Possession Date and Move In Date.

If your contract requires other dates, go to Settings → Contracts, navigate to the Dates tab and click + New Date to create additional dates.

There are two date options: offset and fixed. An offset date allows you to create a date that occurs at a specified period after the contract date, so the date can be different for each contract based on when it was written. Enter a description of the date and the number of days to offset it by from the contract creation date. For example, you could have a date, “Offer open until” with a date offset 3 days from the contract date. Click Save Offset Date to save the changes.

A fixed date allows you to create a specific, non-changing date that is the same for all contracts. Enter a description of the date and the specific date itself. For example, you could create a date “Groundbreaking” and set it for any particular date. Click Save Fixed Date to save the changes.

Note: the sales team can modify both offset and fixed dates for an individual contract during contract creation if needed.

If an offset or fixed date needs to be updated or modified for all contracts (already written and going forward), go to Settings > Contracts and navigate to the Dates tab. Click Edit to the right of the date you wish to modify and make the appropriate change. Click Update Offset Date (or Update Fixed Date) to save your edit. If this date has been applied to any contracts, you will be shown a list of those contracts. Click to confirm that you wish to proceed with the update. This action cannot be undone, so be certain you wish to continue.

Keep in mind that while this action will update the date for existing contracts, it will not update the date on any contract documents that have been generated but any newly generated documents going forward will map the modified date.

Note: If you add a new offset or fixed date, it will not be applied to existing contracts.
