How to Export Contacts from Spark

Note: Only certain user roles are able to export contacts. If you do not have access to the export feature and believe you should have, contact your Spark Administrator.

From time to time, you may need to export contacts from Spark, for example, as a pre-import backup or to update certain contact data points en masse via import. Here's how:

  1. Go to Menu → Contacts → List

    • Filter the list if you only want to export a subset of contacts, or leave the list unfiltered to export all contacts
  2. Click the micromenu and select the Export option

    • The micromenu is represented by three dots (⋮) toward the top of the page
  3. Define your export

    • To export a template of selected columns that has been saved previously, click the name of the export template
    • To start a new export or export template, click New Export Template
  4. Choose what data points to export

    • Select data points from the left column and click in the right column to add them to your export
    • If you know the name of the field you are looking for, you can use the search bar to find it more quickly
    • Drag and drop fields on the right to change the order of the columns in your resulting export
    • Your export will be sorted based on the first column
  5. Send your export
    • Confirm you have the correct email address(es) in the To field at the top of the page
    • Optional: add any relevant notes, which will appear in the body of the export email
    • Optional: if you anticipate needing to export this information on a regular basis, save it as an export template so you don't need to build the export from scratch each time; give the template a name in the Template Name field and click Save Export, then click on the template name to open it
    • When you are ready, click Send Export
