Integrating with Zapier

Use Zapier to integrate with commonly used apps like Facebook Lead Ads.

Before beginning, ensure you have generated an API key/access token in Spark and accepted the invitation for Spark’s Zapier integration. If you have not received the invitation, contact support@spark.re. You will also need access to the project’s API documentation, especially if you plan to use certain fields requiring ID codes. To view the API documentation, go to Settings → API and click Documentation.

Connecting an API Key

To connect an API key, follow the steps below:

  1. From the Zapier dashboard go to My Apps in the left hand menu
  2. Click Add Connection
  3. Search for Spark.re
  4. Paste in the API Key/Access Token copied from Spark, along with the project name

Creating a Zap

The following steps are a general overview of how to create a zap. For more detailed information, refer to Zapier’s documentation.

  1. Click Create Zap
  2. Add a trigger
    1. Choose a trigger app
For example, if you select Facebook Lead Ads, a zap will be triggered when a specified event occurs within Facebook Lead Ads.
    2. Select a trigger event
For example, if you select New Lead, the zap will trigger whenever a new lead is created within Facebook Lead Ads.

      Trigger_App_HR
    3. Select your app account
Sign in or choose the appropriate account for your chosen trigger app.
    4. Set up the zap trigger
Select the desired parameters from the drop down lists to set up the zap trigger.
    5. Test your trigger
Use the test function to confirm the trigger has been set up correctly.
  3. Add the action
    1. Choose an action app
For example, if you select Spark.re, the zap will perform an action within Spark when it is triggered.
    2. Select an action event
For example, if you select Create Contact, a new contact will be created within Spark.

      Action_App_HR
    3. Select your app account
Sign in or choose the appropriate account for your chosen trigger app.
    4. Set up the action
Match the appropriate fields from your trigger app to your action app. Depending on the field, you may need to refer to the API documentation for an ID code.

      Set_Up_Action_HR
    5. Test your action
Use the test function to confirm the action has been set up correctly.
  4. Name and publish the zap

Once the zap has been published, it is good practice to test the process using the trigger app to ensure it functions as anticipated and the desired information is correctly recorded in the action app.

Paths & Other Optional Steps

Your Zapier subscription may also allow you to create paths within Zapier. For example, if you are collecting leads and have a question that differentiates agents from general prospects, you could create a path in Zapier for prospects that assigns the “new” rating in Spark and a path for agents that assigns the agent tag and rating in Spark.

You may also need to add other steps depending on what your zap is meant to accomplish. Other optional steps include adding additional action steps, using a search step or a filter, adding a formatting step and adding a delay between steps. For more detailed information, refer to Zapier’s documentation.
