Scheduling Key Pickups and Walkthroughs with Cal.com
Juniper connects to Cal.com so key pickups and walkthroughs can be booked and kept in sync automatically.
Juniper connects to Cal.com so key pickups and walkthroughs can be booked and kept in sync automatically.
Instead of coordinating times over email or phone, you send homeowners a booking link, they choose a slot that works for them, and the appointment flows straight into Juniper. When something changes on either side, both calendars update on their own.
Getting Started
- Who can do this: Property developers connect Cal.com, manage booking links, and oversee appointments. Service managers can view scheduled appointments but can't manage the connection. Homeowners book using the link they receive and don't need their own Cal.com account.
- Before you start: Each property can have only one connected Cal.com account, so plan your booking links at the property level rather than the account level.
What You Can Book Through Cal.com
The Cal.com integration currently handles two appointment types: key pickups and walkthroughs. Both appear together on your calendar with their live booking status, so you can see at a glance what's scheduled, what's still pending, and what's been cancelled.
Scheduling for service requests is handled separately, through Juniper's existing service request scheduling. It isn't part of the Cal.com integration.
Connecting Your Cal.com Account
You connect Cal.com from your Juniper user profile. Juniper uses a secure OAuth connection, so you sign in through Cal.com itself rather than entering credentials into Juniper. Once you're connected, your linked calendars appear in your profile.
[Screenshot suggestion: the Cal.com connection screen in the Juniper user profile, showing the Connect button and the OAuth sign-in prompt — this is the first thing a new user needs to find.]
Cal.com works with Google Calendar, Outlook, and Apple Calendar, so appointments you book through Juniper respect the availability already on whichever calendar you use.
Note: If you try to connect a Cal.com account that's already linked to a different Juniper account, Juniper stops the connection and shows you which account is already using it, so you can sort out the conflict rather than ending up with two accounts pointing at the same calendar.
Managing Booking Links Per Property
Booking links are managed at the property level, and each property can have one connected Cal.com account. This keeps scheduling for a property tied to a single calendar, so there's no ambiguity about where a booking lands.
How Do Homeowners Book an Appointment?
Homeowners don't need their own Cal.com account. You send them a booking link, they open it, and they pick an available time for their key pickup or walkthrough. The booking is created in Cal.com and appears in Juniper automatically.
When you're handling key pickups across many units, you can generate booking invites in bulk rather than sending them one at a time. Juniper creates a Cal.com invite for each unit in the batch.
Keeping Everything in Sync
The integration is built around live updates. When a booking is created, rescheduled, or cancelled in Cal.com, Cal.com notifies Juniper and the appointment updates on its own. You don't need to re-enter anything or reconcile the two systems by hand.
Juniper tracks four booking statuses so you always know where an appointment stands:
|
Status |
What it means |
|---|---|
|
Accepted |
The booking is confirmed |
|
Pending |
The booking is awaiting confirmation |
|
Cancelled |
The booking was cancelled |
|
Rejected |
The booking was declined |
Seeing What's Scheduled
Your calendar view brings walkthroughs and key pickups together in one place, each showing its current booking status.
The dashboard also highlights the latest key pickup event and the latest walkthrough event with their status, giving you a quick read on recent activity without opening the full calendar.
